Countdown to Justice League: 3 Characters We Want to See in the Movie
THREE days left and we can finally watch the JUSTICE LEAGUE the movie! We're almost there!!! To continue our countdown for the most awaited movie of the century, here are 3 characters and theories on how they will be introduced (or reintroduced) in the movie.
3. Shazam
It is no secret that the Justice League movie is heavily influenced by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's Justice League: Origin (New 52). In that series, Shazam became a vital character to the extent that they gave him a back-up story in every Justice League comicbook. However, after a few story arcs, his character wasn't developed and was left to be forgotten.
Recently, rumors have been circulating that Shazam will be included in the Justice League the movie. While it may be Zeus or just a random person with the ability to conjure thunder bolts, the possibility of him being Shazam or Captain Marvel is still high.
In one of the trailers, Diana tells Bruce, "THEY SAID THE AGE OF HEROES WOULD NEVER COME AGAIN." To which, Bruce replied, "IT HAS TO." Taking the dialogue for what it is, it means that there were heroes who fought the same level of threat during the old days. It may also refer to the first invasion of Steppenwolf. And in that context, the Amazonians and the Ancient Atlanteans fought together to defeat Steppenwolf.
But could there be a third hero who helped saved the world? It could definitely be! Remember, Wonder Woman is Amazonian, Aquaman is Atlantean. If Diana thinks that the age of heroes would never come again, it means that a third race/power is lacking in the team. Bruce's positivity could also explain Alfred's scene in the second trailer where he met up with the "hero" whom Bruce thought would "return" and help save Earth.
2. Superman
The world needs Superman and the League wouldn't be the same if the hero who helped inspired its formation is isn't included in the team. We're pretty sure Superman will show up in the movie, but there are also rumors saying that his involvement in the movie is only limited to Lois' dreams. Either way, we'll surely get Superman in this movie but fans, including me, wish that Superman's role in the movie would be bigger than just a character in dream sequences.
We also have a theory that may return as an evil Superman and that Lois is the key in bringing back his mental state. You can read more on that in our previous article.
1. Green Lantern
Fans are also clamoring for the return of Green Lantern in the Justice League franchise. Despite fans' dismay for Martin Campbell's Green Lantern (2011), the Emerald Knight is still one of the most loved characters in the DC Universe. His cameo or involvement in the Justice League will make fans fall of their seats in the movie house.
The rumor about Green Lantern exponentially rose after WB released its second trailer for Justice League. Fans noticed a green light flying by the Flying Fox. However, it was proved later on that the green light is just a light attached on the Flying Fox.
But other evidence, points out to the existence of the Lanterns in the DC Cinematic Universe. Steppenwolf, himself, have confirmed this with his dialogue, " No Lanterns, no kryptonian... This world will fall like all the others." Two things can be interpreted from that dialogue: one, a green lantern ring hasn't found a human wielder yet; and two, a green lantern protecting Sector 2814 (or Earth) is on a mission outside of Earth.
In Suicide Squad, Bruce Wayne obtained meta-human information from Amanda Waller. Green Lantern might be included in that list--explaining Alfred's scene in the 2nd movie trailer. What I would like to see is Abin Sur and the Green Lantern Corps. to come and help save Earth. In doing so, Sur gets killed and the ring finds Hal Jordan, the first human lantern laying the foundation for 2020's Green Lantern Corps. movie. That would be pretty awesome.
Justice League comes to theaters on November 16, 2017. Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes-Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
