DC Comics Justice League Smartphone by Ekonic
The Justice League smartphone is the first in the world that feature the greatest superhero team in the comicbook universe. The phone comes with special features attributed to the big seven of the DC Universe.
The phone itself takes its inspiration from the iconic Justice League characters. EKONIC, in conjunction with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, together with Smart Philippines, bring us this unique phone that will delight every geek in the Philippines by storm.
The Justice League smartphones will be available in all Smart stores nationwide starting August 1, 2017. Simply pay an additional Four Hundred Pesos (PhP 400.00) monthly for 30 months on top of your existing Smart plans to avail. Rush to the nearest Smart store on August 1 as these smartphones are limited to 5000 pieces only!
While I was able to play with the Justice League smartphone, this review does not intend to talk about the specs of the phone itself. I'll try to touch on a few features, but for the most part of this review, I will be talking about its aesthetics that sold me on this amazing new smartphone.
First off, the Justice league smartphone is highly inspired by Jason Fabok's artwork. As seen in the photos above, the Box itself and the back of the phone was taken from the cover of Justice League #50. The person who designed the overall looks of the phone told me that he had a hard time picking which artwork to use for the phone. But, with the recent success of Wonder Woman, he thought it was only fitting to have the Princess of Themyscira to be at the front and center of the phone.
The Justice League smartphone comes with a slipcase featuring also the artwork of Jason Fabok. After you've taken off the slipcase, you see a large Justice League logo reminiscing of the old logo where an outline of the shield protrudes at the back of the name logo.
The phone comes with a Certificate of Authenticity certifying that it is limited to 5000 pieces. It also comes with a bunch of stickers you can use to further customize your phone.
The Justice League smartphone bundle comes with three additional back covers making it one helluva phone. From the Justice League #50 cover, you can change it to the Ivan Reis' Batman #3 variant, Jim Lee's Superman Unchained #1, or Francis Manapul's Flash #1. The phone is also preloaded with seven different wallpapers representing the seven members of the Justice League. To further protect the design of the phone, a hardcase protector is included in the bundle. And speaking of protection, the phone is already equipped with a tempered glass to prevent those unwanted cracks in your lcd screen.
I know what you're thinking... A smartphone like this need not only look like a Justice League phone, but it must also perform as good as the best superhero team in the comicbook universe. And like I said, this is "the" Justice League smartphone. It has special features that represent the seven members of the League:
SUPERMAN
- The phone is equipped with 4G LTE with phone storage of 16GB (expandable); RAM 2GB. With such capacity, the phone is reliably great and dependable at times of need.
BATMAN
- The phone is 153 mm long, 77mm wide, and 8.6mm thick. The LCD is 5.5" in measure and the screen has a 720 x 1280 HD display. Not only is it slick, but its size is just right to fit inside Batman's utility belt.
WONDER WOMAN
- The phone comes with a Wonder Woman-themed battery and charger. The battery is covered with Diana's logo and the charger cord represents the lasso of truth.
CYBORG
- The phone comes with a quad-core processor and is operated by Android 7.0 Nougat. It comes with a 8.0MP rear camera with auto-focus and built-in LED flash. It is also equipped with a 5.0MP camera for your selfie needs. One of the best features in this phone is its dual micro sim feature.
AQUAMAN
- As previously said, the phone is protected with a clear hardcase shell representing the ocean.
FLASH
- The phone comes with a Flash-themed earphones that is sure to make you tap into the powers of the "music force".
GREEN LANTERN
- Well, we still have to wait for GL's appearance in the movies before we can see his involvement in this amazing phone.
Overall, I love how godly the phone looks like. It really is a phone that deserves the title it is attached with. The best part for me is the passion and dedication they put into the design of the phone. I just love how it directly represents the characters from the DC Universe.
Playing with it, you get to feel that it was designed by a legit DC Comics fan. The icons have easter eggs which I believe are service to the fans and the consumers. Its little details like those that makes me want to get this smartphone even more. Only a legit fan can think of those things.
So, yeah, thats it! That was my experience playing with the Justice League smartphone. I would like to thank EKONICS and SATCHMI for inviting me to their press launch. All I can say is that the phone is great, especially when the developers are dedicated fans of DC Comics. Its EKONIC--fun, functional, iconic!
